Atlanta, GA-- The Atlanta Braves got their one-year, $ 12 million contract option on All-Star catcher Brian McCann on Tuesday, while also exercising their 2013 choices on pitchers Tim Hudson and Paul Maholm. McCann struck 20 homers and drove in 67 runs over 121 games this previous year, but batted a career-low. 230 while dealing with a troublesome shoulder. He had surgery to repair the shoulder two weeks ago and could miss out on the start of next season. Hudson, 37, led the Braves with 16 wins last season -- his eighth with the club. He is three wins bashful of 200 for his career and has a 3. 42 lifetime ERA. Maholm, gotten in a mid-season trade with the Cubs, went an incorporated 13-11 with a 3. 67 ERA. The 30-year-old had spent the first seven years of his career with the Pirates.
